Hi folks,

I'm wanting to mount a splash on my bass-top tom holder. I'm envisioning something that would clamp onto the stem of the tom holder, with the cymbal above and between the toms.

Any ideas?

Use a boom cymbal holder and a clamp. Here are a couple links of what I use.

Most manufacturers make something along these lines, most notable Tama, and their clamp is an I believe MC-6 or MC-66. I used to have a stockpile of them.

I've tried mounting a splash to tom holders before, but it never worked out well enough to keep me happy. Typically, the vibrations from hitting the bass drum would cause odd noises to emit from the splash; obviously I always want my splash to stay quiet unless I hit it. It helped to tighten down the splash, but tightening down any cymbal is deadly imo. Good luck.
