I'm interested in buying a beginner drum set, and i'm leaning towards and electronic kit because i'll be living in an apartment, and I'd rather not make too much noise >_>. Does anyone have any recomendations for good beginner drums kits? I've been looking at the Yamaha DTXplorer...

I live in Germany by the way, so if you know any drum stores here, or anywhere in europe, either online or not, that would help a lot. I don't know how much I should be spending on a kit either.

Thanks in advance :D.

The DTXplorer is perfect, maybe even better than what you need. Yamaha makes great products and this entry level kit has plenty of sound options. I rented this kit for a month and was very happy with it.

Well, as I'm looking to conserve money if possible, would a Classic Cantabile Session E-Drum DD-505 be a good kit? It is convenient because a local store sells one. Also, is 475 EUR a good price for such a kit.

I realise I will pay more for an electric kit, but a regular drum set is not really an option.

if you live in germany I recommend you www.musicstore.de and www.thomann.de , they are widely popular across europe.
about the kit, if you're really leaning towards an electronic one you should look for roland and yamaha

Well with any brand, I would be going for the cheapest model, but I'll take a look at those stores. In any case, is that model I posted any good? I know nothing about it as the guy does not have one in his shop at the moment.

Looking at that site, how about the Fame DD-502/505?

I'll second that. A lesser/no name brand will be a very hard sell when you decide to step up to a better kit. If you want to save money, shop for a used kit to start with (again, stick with the big names). Since it's already de-valued (being used), it will probably now hold that value.
