Trigger Threshold

I recently got a ddrum bass drum trigger and even though the threshold is set to its max (16), I would like it to be higher. Is there something I can do to my bass drum (ie. tuning, stuffing) that will make the trigger activation threshold less sensitive?

Ideally you should pack the bass drum with something like pillows to deaden the sound, it depends if you're micing too. The tuning of the drum does matter, you need to experiment to get the best response.

I have another question.
Is there a way to make the delay between hitting the drum and the trigger playing the sound any shorter? There seems to be a slight delay and its messing me up.
