Trick Pro 1-V

What's the word on the Trick Pro single pedal? Lots of bucks. Is it worth it? I am NOT a metal player, so I'm not interested in getting fast bass drum rolls. I am a funk, blues, and jazz drummer, and like to get quick 16th note doubles. I like direct drive pedals (I play a Yamaha Flying Dragon) and was always fond of the compression spring on an old Speed King, though it doesn't measure up to my Yammie.

I also own the Yamaha FDDD (2 single pedals). I wasn't particularly "wow'd" by the Trick. Nor the Axis. I've played both. They're both good pedals, no doubt. Enough people have them (just here on this forum alone). Go get your foot on one, is the only way to tell. I play every pedal type I can play, every chance I get. I'll stick with my Yamaha's.

The only way to tell is try em out. Even still, you'd be amazed what you "can't" do with even the best pedals on the initial test runs on some. The differences are just to unfamiliar till your foot/feet warm up to them. Patience, consistency in practice, with any pedal you choose to go with, is the key.

The trick has got to be the best pedal on the market, no doubt about it, it's just the price tag you have to worry about. Is it a super great pedal? Yes. Is it the best pedal you will ever play? Probably. Is it worth the money? That's for you to decide.
