Hello all, I received my Ludwig Supraphonic today. I have been waiting about a month to get it shipped but it finally showed up. It is an early eighties Blue and Olive round corner badge. I set it up and played right out of the box, it had an older but not trashed Ambasador on top and remo snare side. I have been playing a Ludwig acrolite for a couple of month's and thought it sounded awesome and I heard that because they are both made from the same basic shell that they sound the same. NOT TRUE. The Supra has much different sound than the Acro. To my ears it is better. It has just a magical sound. If you have ever found that snare that is just right you know what I mean. It sounds incredible and I haven't even tuned it up and put new heads on it yet. I only had about 15 minutes to play it but I plan on putting it through it's paces this weekend. I am not trashing my Acro. It has it's own special attributes but I think I have found the perfect snare.

What model did you get, the 400 or 402? Post some pics. It is alot different than the Acro though.Congrats and enjoy.

Cogratulations to the new happy couple! I'm sure you will be very satisfied with your choice of snare drum for a long time to come. You have bought a piece of musical history there.
