I have a Mapex 7 piece set scaled down to a 5 piece, and instead of two toms being on a stand that sits in the bass drum tom holder, I have 1 tom on a holder and two floors. I scaled down a bit because I wanted to try something that fit more comfortable to me. Heres where the problem starts -- I use a DW 7000 dbl pedal, and while playing, the drum slides off of the pedal even though its cranked as far as it can go... is there anything that I can put between the bass drum hoop and the pedal clamp to cause it to not slide?

By utilizing the spikes on the drum legs and the pedal, your drum shouldn't be slipping off. But you could try using a thick piece of pliable rubber in between. Also make sure everything is leveled out, bass drum legs, pedal, etc.

Gibraltar makes a rubber pad for this that has a little lip on it. So it protects both the top and edge of your hoop.
