14" x 7" x 1 3/8" of Zebrawood meat. It almost weight 12 pounds. That's right 12 pounds...

The stripes really hide the butt-lines, makes it look like one solid piece of wood. 1 3/8"... that's as wide as the 'enter' key on my HP keyboard.

Even the raw 'meat" as is, wouldn't look out of place as a modern art exhibit on a museum display.

I cant speak for the quality of your drums since I don't own any ( yet ), but man, you are such an artist... the visual appeal of your work is enough to get me daydreaming...this finish is WOW!

Wow! Zebrawood and green stain--can it get any better? Can't wait to see what you do for the bearing edge...

Looks spectacular and I bet it will sound even better.

I suggest some black powder coated rims. I think that would look great.

But to each his own.

Awesome work. You have a gift.

That's one badass shell! It will be so loud, Satan and God will both be able to hear it.

But two layers - Francois, are you now building ply drums now! (just kidding). Actually, it must have been very difficult to get the inner and outer shells so perfectly aligned. Wouldn't it have been easier to use extra-thick staves, instead of two layers of thinner staves? What do you gain with this technique?

I am curious how the bearing edges will turn out on a shell that thick. But it is beautiful and the craftsmanship looks very good!
