In a month from now my band will be recording, and the stuido gives me three kit choices,

a)5 piece Pacific kit(not specified), Meinl AA ride 20", Paiste Crash 802 Plus 16", 14" hh (not specified).

b)5 piece Tama swingstar, Paiste ride 802 plus 20", Paiste Crash 802 Plus 16", Paiste 802 Plus hats 14".

c)5 piece Remo kit(not specified), Paiste Ride 802 Plus 20", Etinger 16" Crash, 14 hh (not specified)

I will add to the chosen one:
-Zildjan 8" K splash
-Zildjian 16" ZXT rock crash
-LP granite blocks
-Gibraltar 6611 double pedal (unless they provide something better)

Which kit should I choose?

Should I add?:
-Zildjian 14" ZXT rock hats
-Zildjian 20" Planet Z ride

Thanks in advance

I would personally go with the Pacific (hopefully it is at least the FX or the CX kit) they are either made from birch or maple. The swingstar are beginner drums and the Remo made from acousticon or wood dust may not sounds as good as the pacific.

Bring your own? If you can't do that then go to a different studio. No point in taking chances when you're the one paying the bills.

id say the pacific is your best bet. My first kit was a pacific, low end series, i dont remember which to be exact. it still sounded pretty decent recorded. make sure you take the time to tune them well though.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll go with the Pacific :)

Iron Cobra: I don't think my own kit would be the best Idea, Mapex M (2003), I know less about it than I know about Pacifics.

By Mapex M, if you mean a Pro M, that's probably comparable to to the Pacific. Really, whatever you feel most comfortable with. That's the main key. So I think you answered your own question.

harryconway: I don't know if it's a Pro M (the sticker says M series) but I like the sound, I guess I'll go with the pacific 'cause as you said it should be pretty much the same with the M.
