So, It's been quite a while and after 2 kids and a move from L.A. to Charlotte, I am getting back into playing seriously. I found this inexpensive alternative to $200 hardware cases at walmart.com:

With a need for 2 car seats, my trusty hatchback was no longer useful and I needed to find a smaller alternative. It has wheels, and fits all my stands and accessories. I hope this helps someone.

Oh man, thanks so much! I've been looking for something like this and was about to spend $70 on a case with no wheels! Awesome. I'll definitely order one today.

My pleasure!! Depending on the size of your kit, you may need to break your stands down half way. I am able to get my hi hat, snare, and 3 cymbal stands, along with my throne and a few other goodies.

Perfect timing. I was just looking around for a new case to haul pretty much the exact same items you mention. Think I'll mosey on over to WallyWorld and see if they have this in stock. Good to think outside the box I guess.

Good thinking. For all my cases, I go to our local Army/Navy store. They have tons of cheap and super durable bags, boxes and cases that are pretty cheap and will last longer than I will. I suggest checking out one of those stores if you have them there.

FYI
If you want the one with wheels, you may need to order it online. My local store has the same one w/o wheels for $15.
