Interesting to see him push is own boundaries.
In spite of all his knowledge & experience of the drum set, in the last 3 or 4 videos of him, he seems to be striving for newer ideas & concepts, and doesn't seem to be repeating himself much.
Mark of a genius!
thanks (again) ,Bernhard.

Beautiful!
thanks bernhard.
his x-hat looks different to me.....
before it was 13" x-cellarator over 14" evolution china,
but it looks to me like he's using his own fierce hat over the china here
hmmm.
anyone agree? anyone got a video of him using it?
cheers

The image and sound are out of sync when I watch them. Anybody else got this problem?

Should be fine. What kind of machine and system do you have (hopefully not Window, but should work anyway, because the files are foolproofed...)?
and Quicktime which version?

So still out of sync?? Hmm, and after downloading also?
Shouldn't be and is unusual...

I love the baiao groove around the middle of "part one" where he plays an open bass drum stroke on the one, and the strokes on the and of two and on four are closed. That's a great example of what the kick drum can sound like when you let the beater rebound off the head.

Just tried it again and downloaded the vids to see how they playback. They're still out of sync... I don't really understand - never had this problem before.

Yes, he's using a Fierce top hat cymbal on his stacked x-hat, as for the bottom cymbal - you are correct, it's HHX Evolution chinese 14''
Also, he's using Prototype 10'' Fierce hats (the bottom cymbal is in brilliant finish, not like other Fierce series cymbals)

I checked again and the videos are okay if I watch them on DW, it's when I download and watch them on my computer that it messes up.
I can't find what's causing that though, the other videos I downloaded work fine.
EDIT: nope actually they go out of sync when I watch them on DW also... Geez I really don't get this.

Try uninstalling QT from your system and reinstalling a fresh version, that might solve it.

Hey Abe,
I watched the video and then read your reply. Once again, right on the money. Jojo has always been great, but in the last few years he has really cranked it up a notch (or two or seven). He is consistantly developing new ideas and is truly a great innovator.

It's something like a DW 5000 (right side of a left foot 5002) with Pearl Eliminator footboard and Wahan Beater... custom build. But his own pedal is on the way, could only be some years till it's available... :D
