So the last gig we played I noticed a small catch or hitch in my IC pedal, at bbout 3/4 of the way to the beater striking the head. The last practice we had it got worse - making the pedal almost unplayable.

I examined the pedal and didn't see anything obvious. All screws are tight, nothing slipping - in fact I made no adjustments to factory setup other than beater height and spring tension. I took the footboard, spring and chain out of the equation and moved the beater independantly and it does occur, leading me to believe that there's an issue with the cross-bar or an internal washer/linkage problem. The pedal is less than a year old and not used super-heavily - less than 3 times a week at most and I don't have that heavy a foot.

Has anyone had this issue before? Is Tama's customer service good about these issues? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a bad bearing. Tama likely buys these from a 3rd party supplier but I’m sure will sell you a replacement part.

OK - I'm an ID10T. I meant power-glide, not lever glide. The lever glide is my hi hat stand. Doh!

if its under 1 year old, it should still be under warranty. you could take it back to the shop if u still got the receipt, or just order in that spare part (i doubt it costs much).

I had this on a brand-new one, right out of the box. I know exactly what you are talking about, it was totally irritating... so irritating it was unplayable in my opinion. I took it back and got another, which was fine.

I agree with Numberonefan. I think it's a bad bearing. Mine was on the left side, and when you wiggled the shaft on that side, it had some play in it, while the good, right side, didn't.

Thanks all. Unfortunately, I ordered online (being 2 hours away from any music store). I have called the good folks at Rupp's in Denver for help. I think they'll be willing to help given the $$$ I've spent with them in the past. I think I also may use this opportunity to try out a direct-drive pedal and get an Axis AX-A and keep the IC as a backup.
