Yamaha 700 series hardware

are the hi hat and snare stands (single braced) good? i see some used for $35 each...

I have both. Yes, well built stuff. I got rid of a DW 5000 hat stand for my Yamaha (an older "Steve Gadd" model - but 700 family), and I just replaced another one of my double braced snare stands with a Yamaha 700 series (drop basket). Extra weight is just that.

I now only use Yamaha 600 cymbal stands and they are amazing - best ever tried. Very good hardware all round.

And I'll second to the 600 series as well. I have 3 600 series cymbal stands and a snare stand.

I used to have a set of the 700 series hardware (back in the Red/Black sticker days) and it was great stuff.

700 Snare, cymbal, hat...all great stuff then I moved to the 900 series....you could throw that series off a roof and maybe scuff it up.

But the 7000 was very sturdy.

If the latest stands are as good, you'll be set.
