I went to the music store to get a few pairs of Vic Firth 5As but they only had them with nylon tips. The guy said "What about Pro-Mark 5As?" Ugh, I thought, but he handed a pair to me and I played them on a pad. "Okay, I'll take two pairs."
I've just been playing them on my kit and I quite like them. They're Pro-Mark Millennium II, Shira Kashi Oak. Japan Oak, it says on the stick.
They feel good, sound great on my ride. Slightly lighter then the Firths. I really like these sticks. I forgot just how good Pro-Mark sticks are.
Never played a stick made out of oak before. I was a hickory guy. But these I like very much.

Its good to experiment. Yeah pro mark makes great sticks. Im a huge fan of the 747 Rock sticks. Although the Neil Peart signature sticks are not exactly my favorite, ive gotta say they are so damn sturdy. I played 6 shows where i played 40 songs and had about 2 months of practicing up until then and i used the same pair the whole time. They are so torn apart but they still are together.
