I bought one once to try it out on my previous snare and hated it. I like some overtones on my snare and it really turned the sound into a really dry sound, especially when you hit the center.
It's an interesting head though because the center and the side of the head really sound different. but that's juste not my taste (I tried it on a pearl chad smith snare).

I'll have to agree with paracor. I put one on my 14x8 Pearl floater snare with a brass shell and its just very dead sounding even hitting rimshots. I'll just stick with the Genera.

the head pretty much took all the crack outa my snare, it coulda been how i tuned but i really think a lot of it was the overtone ring and double ply head.

I ran with one over a year on a PDP maple snare and loved it. I wanted to cut down on some ring and overtone and it did just that. I am now a big fan of dot heads because of my experience with this one. I have, on a whim, just switched everything to Aquarian and have been greatly impressed with the Texture Coated w/ Power Dot and like this head even more than the Evans. This can be attributed mainly to the Z100 coating - man, that stuff is great. Give that a shot next time, as you've already ordered the Evans. They are both great heads.

It was decent for me on my pacific snare. Decent amount of ring and decent sound to it. Although the dot in the middle stole some bounce so i tryed a different head after that one.
