tip breaking

so i have a problem i play fairly hard rock and classic rock
and i use Vic Firth Extreme 5A sticks and i have a problem with the
tip breaking until it's a little point am i using the wrong kind of
sticks i like the size and wieght just they break really easy

Is this recent? Because I've been getting that with some of my VF Danny Carey sigs as well. The sticks are lighter in color and the tips snap easily, unlike the old ones. I have some sticks from a year ago with perfect condition tips while I have some from last week with 1/2 of it snapped off.

They're definitely from the bad batch I've been getting. I just broke a tip from a pair I bought yesterday from Sam Ash! If they're lighter in color then that's your problem. The ones at GC from last month haven't broken on me yet so I'm only buying sticks from them now.
