Here are some clips of me playing some songs (mostly Zep). I recorded it with a camera phone, so the quality isn't to good.

I make some mistakes, but that is OK. I have these out so that you can critique as nicely or harshly as you want. I just hope I don't get the big NO RESPONSE as even a negative is better than nothing.

I was really nervous, but I need some advice.

Thank you all for your time.

I liked "Here is the Fool in the Rain". The groove there is basically the Purdie shuffle, which my teacher has me learning at the moment. Very cool!

I would be careful that you keep your time steady. Occasionally the groove speeds up when you get excited about fills and such. It's tough to control the adrenaline and it gets even harder in a performance setting, but the more that you can master it now, the better off you'll be.

Try some different styles. All of your grooves here are essentially the same. I'll agree that they're really cool, but diversifying your playing is the best thing that you can do. Versatility as a drummer is very important.

Thanks for posting those - I enjoyed watching!

Thank you both for your responses.

I agree that my speed was a bit inconsistent.

It is funny, I used to practice with a metronome all the time. Then, a month ago, I stepped on it and broke it. I got a new one and it has only been a week with it. It was difficult to play with it again. I was actually shocked how fast I lost it.

I used to only play metal and speed metal (attempted to). The last 12 months I have really been working on "groove".

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

I had to turn my sub down when you kicked that giant Ludwig bass drum ;) Sounds real good I also noticed a little time variation, but very solid grooving all the way around. Great sounding drums too!!

great playing dude. That was a camera phone? man, turned out better than most of the cam corder recordings. Couldn;t really see how relaxed you were, but it sounded great!
