i recently put on remo pinstripe clear heads on my toms
And remo pinstripe coated on my snare
I was wondering what head would go best on the resonants with that combo
As i just have the shitty stock heads on the resonant sides

I also play metal drumming so any suggestion of different combo's is welcome :)

I have a pretty standard premier olympic kit with a black panther traditional maple 14X6.5 snare if that helps

Cheers

I run Ambassadors on all of my resos. I don't think I've ever tried anything else. Someone else may have a better suggestion or explanation of the different options. They seem to get the job done so I haven't bothered to experiment much. I think they're Remos standard reso because they're the only ones I've seen packaged as a reso pre-pack.

I have Emperor/Ambassador on my Toms and it's wicked. Best sound I've had.

Alright,

The Ambassadors can be utilized as either batters or resonants but they may be a little bright as batters for some drummers. As far as metal drumming goes, the Remo Pinstripe is THE classic metal drumhead as it has a very staccato sound which metal can often dictate. And yes, the Ambassador heads work very well with the Pinstripes and equally well with Emperors. If you are game, you may also want to consider a Powerstroke 3 on your toms which may give a little fatter sound. And if durabilty is a concern, there the Powerstroke 4 which is a 2 ply head.

Any 1-ply 10-mil clear head will do nicely. Ambassador, Evans G1, etc.
