What do you guys think of Zildjian Drumsticks?? I have some artist series like Jhon Otto, and a pair of 5B in Black Dip. I like the grip my 5B gives but the tips are easily broken.

I've had a few pairs in my time and basically they're firewood. I see people playing the Travis Barker signatures and think they look thick, then they actually weigh about half what I'd expect - just not impressive.

I hate them, too easily broken for my tastes and I'm not a heavy hitter, I've been using the same pair of sticks for a little over a month now (Vater Fusions), I managed to break 2 pairs of Zildjians in a week. This is just me, though. A lot of people swear by them.

I've also tried the Travis Barker stick and they just leave white paint marks all over my drum heads and cymbals! I just hate them!
Anyone played antionio sanchez signature zildjian sticks?

I have had a few pair of Zildjian sticks and they are simply not worth buying. My first pairs were 5Bs which I have used as Concert/Pep Band sticks which are OK. The 5A Dips I had broke on my electronic set--figure that out, as did my 5A Anti-Vibe. Someone gave me the Travis Barker sticks as a gift and yes the white finish is annoying, but these are actually a good feeling pair of sticks although the round tip isn't all that wonderful of a sound.

I'm a bit sussed out by a cymbal company which decides to make drum sticks for a second source of income.

I have use the Travis Barker sticks as well, the left horrible white marks all over my cymbals, I spent ages with my cymbal cleaner after that!
I have also used the Anti-Vibe sticks and they broke the day I got them, I now use Ahead sticks and have no problems, I really don't rate Zildjian sticks at all.

I think now (even better would have been yrs ago) would be a great time for Zildjian to give some attn to improving their sticks. Doesn't matter to me much since I'm a dedicated Vater guy, but they could be a better contender in the field if they improved the quality.
I tried Zildjians once about 8 yrs ago (I play 2B/Nylon tip) and the tips flew off of one pair almost immediately. I thought, maybe a fluke. The tips stayed on next pair, but the sticks themselves became chewed up and cracked as quickly as if they had been made out of molded and glued sawdust.
I will say this though, when I called Zildjian to bitch, the CSR I spoke with very quickly offered to replace the sticks, citing that I prob got a few from a bad batch. I had purchased 3 pairs, and a couple days later UPS delivers a case, which I thought was pretty cool of them to do.
I used them for rehearsing, but immediately went back to the tried and true Vaters.

I used to love their Maple 5B, but I wrecked them on a daily basis, so I switched back to Vic Firth 5A.

I dont like them, and dont see them as a serious players stick. Poor woodstock, and hardly ever straight.

I had a pair and they lasted me a month, the tip flew right off one of them, I bought another pair just to see if maybe they will last longer, but after reading this, I doubt it.

All of Zildjians non-signatureand even a lot of their signature sticks are absolute crap. I used Zildjians for a while when I started playing but once I moved onto different brands I realised how bad they were. That said if you get the right signature stick they should play fairly well.
In my opinion Zildjian should stick to their cymbals.

I like the feel of their dipped sticks but the tips don't hold up worth crap. Never had a problem with the nylon tips, but the wood tips seem to disintegrate before my eyes.

I agree. I think VF's are still the bomb by far.
