Hello all,
I hope this is in the right place; if not, would one of the mods mind moving it? I'm very new to the forum. I have been a member of various hockey forum as evidence from my tag name. But drumming is more of a hobbie for me then anything else. I am actually an ice hockey goaltender more than anything. I currently play hockey for Niagara University on the ACHA div 1 team. I have gotten a few pro tryouts for next year and that is what I will be pursuing.
As far as drumming, I play on a standard Tama Rockstar. I play mostly a rock style of drums, similar to John Tempesta, or Kenny Aronoff. I would like to someday be able to play like Joey Jordison, Mike Portnoy, or Neil Peart; but due to hockey I haven't been able to put enough time practicing. I have been playing since I was 14 years old and I'm now 24. I'm pretty good at drums but i'm not as good as someone who would have been playing for 10 years. Like i said the drums are more of a hobbie than anything else.
I registered on here to pick up a few pointers and tips or tricks and such. Maybe pick up new gear info to make my kit a little better.
Anyway hello all and i just introduce myself.
