I forgot what the guy used but I bought a Remo PS3 for my bass drum and he cut a hole and then removed the logo with something. I'm thinking it was lighter fluid but I'm not sure. I'd like to remove the Tama logo from the head that came with the drum. It's similar to the PS3. Smooth black. Is it lighter fluid? Or Isopropyl alcohol? I wish I could remember.

I know that Acetone will remove printed logos from heads.
That's what I have always used.

But you have to be careful on using this on drum heads.
Don't just douse the rag, and let it sit on the area for any amount of time, it will start to melt the plastic head.

Put some on a rag, and go lightly over the logo spot.

Do it a few times, letting the stuff evaporate between swipes.

It will make a smear, but once it's all off, you can go over it again with a cleaner rag to get the residue off.

Vinyl logos, you can just pick up the edge of the letters and peel them off.

to save you running around like blue arsed fly looking for acetone.nail varnish remover is probably already in the house and is 99.5 percent acetone. the other 0.5 is just perfume.

Why take the logo off the head? lol even if they are crappy heads who cares...i have my stock heads on my kit and i think they sound ok..but im in no need of removing the logos...or is there some effect this will have on the sound or life of the head? i highly doubt it but again im not sure why u feel the need to do that

Acetone and laquer thinner will leave a dull spot on the head and might eat through it if its just a cheapo resonant head. Naptha will clean anything without residue.

Right on. Ya actually the stuff smelled like lighter fluid when he did it at the shop. So Naptha makes more sense. That's what I thought at first but couldn't remember.
