Anybodt around the area who hasnt seen Dom perform in clinic cannot call themselves a drummer unless they go see it.

Dom is indeed the MAN, and one of the most enthusiastic guys on the planet.

I challenge you all NOT to be affected by his personality!

Just got back from the clinic with Dom and what a treat. I met fellow forum member Paul Quin there, sat front row, and we were joined by the fabulous John Blackwell who lives in Tampa and teaches a bit at that store. What a great guy Dom is. I met him before the show and I feel like I have known him for ever. What stories he has and what a player. He mentioned his ex-wife and told me I looked like her. Drew a great laugh from the crowd, but later on said he had trouble meeting the girls, when a young lady was leaving early. So I figured I owed him one. He said it was because he didn't look to good. And I said thats what his wife said. Another good laugh. After the show I got his and John's signatures on a snare head I had. If you get a chance don't miss it. I would drive a couple of hours to see him again. He is headed to Lafayette LA so keep your eyes open and go. Pictures tomorrow.

EDIT;;;; Almost forgot, Bernhard if you read this, Dom said hi, told us how wonderful a person you are, and how great the website is and very much appreciates your efforts.

Snare head signed by, left, John Blackwell, right, Dom Famularo with reference to me looking like his ex-wife. Too funny.

Ah same ol same ol. The level of conversation is a little different over here, but kids there are just as keen to talk drums and learn, so I contribute as best as I can, given my time constraints these days.

Go here for a few photos of the evening. I apologize for the lousy pix. Not my usual effort.

A few photos of John Blackwell and Dom Famularo. A great show.

I would also like to say that if you ever get a chance to see Dom, do it!
He did a Clinic at a friend's Shop last summer and I had the pleasure of being Dom's driver the short time he was in town, he truly is a nice cat as well as a real character, which I quickly found out while we were checking him into his Hotel. I won't go into the details of what happened there at the Desk but he had all of us laughing. That was a day to remember!

It was a great clinic! Dom's enthusiasm renders him somewhere between a motivational speaker and a clinician. These boards have occasionally seen messages from drummers talking about being dissatisfied, burnt out or losing interest. A tonic for all would be hearing Dom talk about his "art" - and make no mistake he sees drumming as an expression of a par5ticular art form. His solo at the clinic was inspriring not just for the playing - and he sure has some chops - but for its expression and its musicality. A great performance, and has been said before, if you havn't seen Dom you should. he truly is a great ambassador for the art of drumming.

It was also great to meet Gruntersdad! I am sure no-one will be surpised to hear that he is just as nice and charming in person as he is on these boards!

Having John Blackwell play a little was some great icing on the cake!

Paul

Dan I talked to John Blackwell after the show and told him that I had taken some photos of him really watching in depth, and he said he had been inspired by Dom since he was 14 years old. And I guarantee you he still is, as were the rest of us that night. I'm ready for another show of his, and yours. Thanks.
