Got these used... they are like new! Didn't know much about Mapex until I went to a Liberty Devitto clinic and the sound of his Mapex Saturn drums blew me away! I originally wanted a Saturn kit, but when I saw these for sale I figured I'd "sacrifice" the 2 walnut plies for the all-maple Pro-M. The thin maple shells resonate much more than my Pearl DLX kit, and the previous owner re-headed them with Evans G2 batters. Love the barking attack. Still need to set up more cymbal stands/cymbals and add the Ludwig Supraphonic snare from my Pearl kit...

Its a limited edition mapex pro M in honey maple burst. Only 50 were made.

Really? Just got these off e-bay... the seller claimed them to be "collectible", but I just figured that was sales point... didn't realize they were that rare!

I haven't had a "tuning session" with them yet, and I don't have all my hardware and cymbals set up, but I already love this kit!!

I have 2005 Pro-M Studio kit. Mapex is great company to stay with certainly. The Pro Ms are just simply a nice professional kit without paying thousands more for a bigger brand. The only reasons that would keep me from buying a Mapex kit in the future is the lack of customization options really. But they add so much every year, who knows.

Wow, what a pretty finish on that set! I am a proud Mapex owner myself....I hope you enjoy the kit.

If you don't mind me asking. What did you pay for them?

No problem...
I clicked on the E-bay "Buy it Now" price of $1175 (US)+ $50 shipping after thinking about it for a day...was afraid to bid on them and lose them to a higher bidder!

I think I did pretty good...not a scuff or scratch anywhere on the whole kit. Plus they came with RoadRunner soft bags and a real nice Zildjian cymbal bag, an extra BD head and all the original heads.

Thanks! It's a big change from my dark lacquered Pearl kit I've played for so long... these really brighten up the room!

I actually bought a used Pro M set - the five piece standard, about six months ago, the shells only, in Black Chrome Pearl. Great drums for the $$. Your kit looks immaculate - with good heads and the bags, you made out, methinks.

Yeah it did.. don't know if the bag was specifically for a 22"x20", but it fits just fine...

I'd like to see Black Chrome Pearl... do you have any pics of it posted anywhere?

I'm playin' some gigs this weekend - I'll try to snap a few. I didn't really choose the fininh - since I found 'em used in a local music store - but I do like it, and they were in great great shape, as are yours. I bought a set of Gator bags (very much like your Roadrunners) for 'em.
