Hello.
I've been listening to this cut on my high end equipment and have been really digging the sound, especially the low toms. I know it's Brooks Wackerman but since he's sitting in I can't be sure just to look up his kit to see what he's using, who knows if it's his own or something set up for this session. Taking into account what I'm sure is some serious equalization, I'm just wondering what anyone with a more knowledgeable ear thinks as to heads/drums are being used for this sound.

The quality on this sux, so I'm kinda hoping anybody responding would have heard it on something better.
Thanks.

With all the triggers, eq's and processors available in a studio it's virtually impossible to base any judgement on what was used for the kit as far as brand or heads. I think the only way you'd find out is if there was a write up or an interview at some point describing what he used. My guess if I was to have one for heads would be some brand of single ply batter and reso or possibly a 2 ply batter but that is purely speculation.
Hopefully someone here knows something about that setup.

I was thinking some kind of one ply batter as well, kona, and like you said with all the additions in the studio it's hard to really tell.
I was hoping that someone with some priviledged info might see the post.

That would most likely be at G2 batter and G1 reso or possibly Resonant Glass

Yeah, I found that info on some website, but like I said since he was just sitting in on the CD I was curious if he was playing his own kit or one supplied to him in order to keep the Korn "sound". Bozzio sat in for some cuts as well. I might be wrong but I don't see them hauling his big a** kit in just for that.
This was really a next to impossible question to answer in the first place, but I really liked the sound as was just curious ... no plans to actually try and replicate it.

The most versatile Evans are G1s.
