I recently hosted Kenny at a drum clinic here in Perth, Western Australia and he was kind enough to offer an interview, which I think some of you may enjoy reading.
He really was a fantastic player and great guy to meet. Evryone should see one of his clinics if they get the chance.

Enjoy!

Cool interview from a dynamite player. It's interesting to hear a pro's take on the studio experience. The tom question is a big one for him, I read that year's ago and it just stuck in my head.

Thanks for the link. Intresting.
I am waiting for an opportunity to see him live.
On the recent John Fogerty album, K A has a great drum sound & plays right in-between country & rock styles.
Nice.
He (K A) has his name endorsing a cowbell doesn't he?
Anyone got one?

Hey DS, great interview! I liked the range of questions you asked him, very insightful. I hate when the opportunity to get some info out of a great player like that is squandered by a novice interviewer asking juvenile questions. Your questions were specific to Kenny and his background, they made the most of the resource. Not too short, not too long, nice work!

Awesome Damien! I really liked Kenny's answers and explanations.
I also took a look at your Setup section... I can honestly tell you, with the exception of using three hi-hats, everything else about my own setup configuration matches yours!! Funny, huh? :)

Nice interview Damien, well done!
Is it just me or does Kenny look younger everytime I see him? I swear that when I first saw him with Mellancamp in the 80s, he looked about 20 years older than he looks now!

Cool interview, thanks for posting it. Kenny's such a seasoned pro I bet his clinics are awesome.
In some other interesting Kenny Aronoff news, he recently recorded all the drum tracks for my favorite band Stryper. The new album is due out this year and is going to have a cover tune of Boston's Peace of Mind on it. Kenny won't be on tour with Stryper but it would've been fun to see him in yellow and black spandex! ;-)

Yes and thankyou. It was very deliberate.
Kenny was very tired by the time I interviewed him, which I expectd. In my opinion, It would have been disrespectful to not do some research on the guy and ask questions specific to him and his career.
Im hoping to get interviews from everybody I host in clinic.
