Antonio Sanchez LIVE sequence!!

So I got to see Antonio Sanchez with the Pat Metheny trio a few days ago and it was awsome. I discovered an incredibly melodic and at the same time groovy Antonio Sanchez. His playing was at the same time very rythmique as you would imagine but also full of finess and style. The footage was taken with my digital camera so the quality is not that great on it.

It was an incredible show.

metheny is my all-time favorite jazz guitarist, i wanted to see him when he performed with mheldau but was too broke at the time. i wish i had a second chance at that.

by the way i want his crazy ass guitar, it would be so much effin fun to play

I only got snippets of songs, at some point sanchez soloed on one of the songs and it was just insane! In fact i was so absorbed by what he was doing I forgot to film it. I would recommend seeing this gig to everybody, even if you're not a jazz fan.

Pat Metheny is great, he differs much from John Scofield I think. He sounded amazing.
As well as Antonio Sanchez! His way of playing is outstanding. He plays so dynamically, accurate, musical and with a huge pocket full of spirit and soul.

Pat Metheny has become such a Legend and a 'Star' and 'Guitar Hero' to the guitarist community, all styles confused. I have a lot of respect for that because not many jazz artists acheive that in their carreer, and when they do, it is a sign of greatness. Thank you sir Pat Metheny for your contribution to making great music.

Once in a while there is this drummer you see live and who becomes such an influence on your style of playing. Antonio Sanchez has just become that to me.

I'd like to add that I also liked the way he set up his kit in a way all drums and cymbals especially in a very easily accessible way, allowing little movement around the kit but incredible precision and speed.

I'll have to try that setup.
