What equipment do you guys think I should buy?

my birthday is coming up, and i cant decide on what im going to try to get.

either a better double pedal, the fatser i go on mine, the less responsive it gets.(its only a cheap dixon)

or some cymbals.
i was looking at a paiste 2oo2 18"china, or a 18" and 12"mini-china, both by wuhan.
chances are id only be able to get one cymbal htough, due the price of decent stands that needed to be added onto the final price.


what would you guys do?

hmmmmm...... well it depends, what pedals were you thinking of getting?

a dw 7000, or a pearl eliminator(if i get enough).

but theres always the gibralter's and sonor pedals that i would demo instore on the day of buying.

I had this same dilemma when i had extra cash for selling my old kit. I went with the 7000 double pedal. I still have a crappy ride cymbal but my double bass playing is way better. New cymbals can wait, i say go with the pedal. The 7000 is a great pedal. My drum teacher has told me before that he likes it more than the 5000. However, I don't anything about eliminator pedals or any other kinds other than iron cobra (they're tight). Hope that helps.

Personally I'd go with the Eliminators, I've been wanting to get myself a pair for a while now.

A quality pedal is something that can actually improve your playing. Plus, it is far more essential to your playing than a China cymbal. So, I would go with the pedal.

cymbals are going to be the same. not in sound. or looks for all that matter. but your going to hit them just like you do the ones you have know. so, i would go for the pedal. you can improve on the pedal. not really on the cymbals. both important...but pedal, IMO, is more

Unless you really need the China and you don't have one already, get the DP. Take a look at the Yamaha Flying Dragons, they're class!

I would not recommend buying a 7000. I have one and it is an ok pedal, but take a look at the link someone posted about me on pearlforums. In addition to that, the 7000 lags when you get really fast. Personally I'm looking to upgrade from a 7000 to an Eliminator or an Axis, so yeah.
