well I think double bass is a little complicated when you start out, because a lot of people have the mind set that all you have to do is hit each pedal really fast and you know it can't be that hard, but the key is, is training yourself play each one on a different stroke, so like someone else has said already "start slow" it really helps get you used to the feel and not only slow but start with umm how do u say this technically, try double bass rolls before playing constant to get you used to it more. For example Bass Bass snare but use both feet to accomplish it. Sorry that was a really bad way to explain it maybe someone else can elaborate on my example, but ya just start slow and learn to pace yourself, then eventually as you go you get faster unnoticeably until you look back maybe a year down the road and look at where you are compared to where you started and remember the moment you think you can handle more speed than you have been using the more your double bass will sound sloppy, happend to me, but I'm getting back on the right track again. I hope this helped, again sorry for the bad example, but I wasn't sure how to explain that.

I've attached a series of exercises. Play each bar 8 times and proceed to the next one, play bass primarily with your left foot is your left foot is the weak link, but it is also good exercise for the right foot. And start slow.

Easy there killer, I come in peace. I'm just saying that there are tons of Double Bass threads and its kind of silly to continually start new threads about the same topic, when we can just complile all of the info of these many threads into one uber thread about double bass drumming.

Purchase the Gibralter bass drum practice pad. This product has helped me tremendously. I am sure that this product will improve your ability to utilize the double bass.

I've posted this before, but it helps me tremendously and is simple: Practice playing the same things you like to play with your primary foot, but do so using your weaker foot. Soon it will feel natural & using the feet together will become easier.
