Start with 8th note triplets at a steady tempo. play for four beats. for the next 4 beats play 16th note triplets. pretty straightforward stuff.

Maybe you could do something like play quarter note triplets for 4 beats
then 8th note triplets for four beats
then 16th note triplets for four beats,
then 32nd note triplets for four beats(depending on the tempo)

just try and feel the 6:1 grouping

Try playing 16th note triplets for 2 bars; accenting the 8th notes. Then bring one hand off the pad, continuing to play in the air. After some practice you won't need to bring your hand off, you will just start to hear the subdivisions.

There was an exercise that Joe Morrelo talked about that was doing triplets with one hand using the Moeller technique. When you get the hang of it in both hands you just gotta combine them. That way you don't float on your seat trying to double your triplets.

Just use a metrenome, go slow, and get the sound and feel of it into your head. Practice, practice, practice...

I feel the need to ask, are you talking about going from 8th note triplets to 16th note triplets OR are you talking about playing double strokes triplets, where you double each note

instead of RLR LRL playing RRLLRR LLRRLL

ha good point didn't even think of that. but that would seem fairly straightforward(to me at least)
