He was part of the California scene in the late 50's early 60s. Had a couple of drum featured hits: "Teen Beat" and "Let there Be Drums". Pretty simple, but catchy and influential.

I don't know too much more about him. Other than the related interviews he gives, which are interesting.

I'm just a beginner, but I think he's very relaxed and musical here. What do you drummers think?

Thanks for the video. I've wanted to get in contact with him for a few years now as he lost part of his right leg in a motorcyle accident. I was told that he didn't have internet access of his own at the time though.

Let There Be Drums...Now that brings back some old memories. He's a cool old dude. I didn't know he lost his leg.

Yup. He sits side saddle to the snare and uses his left leg on the bass.

I've heard a couple of his albums from the 70's. For a while he was somewhat of a 'Buddy Rich', with records that featured the drums.

Quite a player.
