First off welcome to both of you who are the first two in this thread...Welcome to DW, although I am not familiar with any Turkish drummers this dude has it going on to say the least thanks for sharing always nice to see a talented drummer!

he is one of the most "have to be on list" drummer..
he makes astonishing performances every day in turkey..
he has many great recorded stuff like laço tayfa,aşkın arsunan and many more..
drummerworld.com has to pay more attention to this topic and this great drummer.

I like Volkan Öktem's playing, I know him from the two albums by Laco Tayfa I own. I love those two cds, very interesting fusion of styles, and great playing. The bass player absolutely kicks ass especially.
