Well this isn't actually MY set, but its the set I play on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with my school's jazz band.

The Sabian B8's are mine, everything else is the school's.

Specs:

-Drums: Pearl Export, snare is a 70's Vintage Ludwig Rocker
-Cymbals: Sabian B8 18" Medium Crash, 10" Medium Splash
Zildjian ZBT 16" Crash, 20" Ride, 14" Hi-hats.

It isn't the greatest, but it looks nice and sounds great. Now for teh picz! (PS The pics where the B8 Crash is at a weird angle are due to me crashing on it)

The crazy Asian kid is the percussionist in the Senior Band. He affectionatelly calls be Bambi after he misheard the other percussionist say "downbeat" when I was playing.

The band teacher actually bought the Pearl after I joined the band, which pissed off the previous drummer to no end.. haha

the Ludwig Vintage Rocker was restored recently, and its a hand-me-down from the school's old days.

I see you guys have one of the newer exports with the suspension tom mounts. Although some claim it doesn't make much of a difference I prefer it anyway, if just for aesthetics. My school's set has the classic rod-in-socket dealy. Although we do have AAXs and a Hand-Hammered crash... so it all balances out.

What songs do you guys play?

P.S. Your ZBTs could use a little groove juice... I thought your ride was a Breakbeat ride for a second because of the look!

i like the jet black, but that is one crazy set up. whatever happened to the snare having a slight tilt and the floor nice and flat?

I wish I could have my floor tom flat, but it's impossible because its one of those suspended toms, and the stand I suspend it off of is too high, which means that if I wanted to keep the tom flat, it would be at like my shoulder level.. lol

And youenjoy00myself, you're right, I'm going to get those ZBT's polished as soon as I can.

Looks comfy, good band? I like the look of those orchestrals in the background.

The band has seen better times (and to be honest a better drummer too haha), but overall it's a very nice band.. trumpet section could use improvement and our trombone section could try to show up in its entirety at least for ONE practice, but the band itself has good groove and potential.

By the way, our setlist right now is:

Blue Bossa
Bionic Blues
Sam's Boogie
Birdland
Angel Eyes
Ocean Breeze
Sweet Georgia Brown
Bubbert's Groove

Nice looking kit. :-)

Thank you!

The Jazz Band calls it the Black Pearl. They say it's cursed, and that all the drummers are going to die mysteriously like the drummers in This Is Spinal Tap.

All you have to do is clamp the tom lower on the cymbal stand, thats what I do on my export..

you can see it here http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t172/Tuxido9/HPIM0430.jpg

I have it down as low as it'll go. If I put the clamp any lower, it would be on the thick part of the stand, and the clamp doesn't fit on that part, sadly. But we're working on it. =)
