ive been wondering this for quite some time, if anyone could help, it would be rgeatly appreciated.

It's pronounced My-Nil or My-Nel. I always thought it was pronounced Mean-l.
On that note, I just found out that Taye is pronounced Tie, not TAY.

My thinking is, if it is German then the second vowel is accented when i and e are together, so I always say Mine-L. Lets have a look at what Wikipedia says. Be right back.
Well uncommon to Wki they had no pronunciation listed so I shall defer to Karl or one of our other European members.

I've heard Benny Greb pronounce it how you spelled it.

Yes yes, you`re right.
It`s pronounced like My-nel, although between the N and the L there`s more or less a dead space which sounds like NEL or NILL.
Already watched this? Listen carefully at 0:34! And if you`ve got some time...this video is worth watching imo. Cool grooves...

I'm not sure about Meinl but Paiste is pronounce (Pie-e-stee) with the extra "e" sound stretched out before the "stee" so it's not quite like "fiesty"
