Guess I'm gonna need more cymbals to fill that resulting gap...

Yep, I'm lefty, playing open handed and occasionally crossed, but I'm more comfortable playing the hi hats with my right. But since the bassdrum is on the right, you can say is a hybrid lefty-righty set, kinda weird looking, but I've found it's what works for me. And now I consider I've completed my main project which was to have the toms centered in a cheaper way than getting a tom stand. It's way more comfortable like this.

Thanks for the comments on the Meinls, considering they are not high end stuff. The Hihats, the 16" crash and the ride are MCS grade, and the 18" crash and the China are Classics, a little bit higher than the MCS, but they get the job done.
