Gibralter Hybrid Mounting Pod

Hi all,
Anyone seen one of these? The pictures on Gibralters site are not very good. If you got one of these, could you mount it on your double tom stand, and add 3 cymbal arms to it?

The idea is the middle clamp a-fixes the crossbar to your existing cymbal stand. The end clamps then hold rack type cymbal arms/booms. Mounting to a double tom stand will give you 2 cymbal mounts (one at each end).

Cool idea, applying some of the principles of rack setups to stands. I am currently doing something like this with a DW boom arm and a couple of DW Puppy Bones, but this Gibraltar system may offer more flexibility in mouting.

Thanks Harry, that's what I thought, however,....It appears in the picture that there is a center mount cymbal coming off of that too. (china) Like I said, the pictures on their site aren't the greatest for sure. But, thanks for the help.........anyone else?

I don't see why you couldn't mount as many cymbals arms as would fit on that bar.

The limitation would be the size of the clamps you have to use.

The pic of the kit when you click on the product info shows a bunch of stuff on the bar.

You might want to use the heavier duty Gibraltar Tripod base for holding all that stuff.

Kinda reminds me of the old Yamaha 9000 series...that stuff was great.

As an aside...

I use Gibraltar 9600 (Brake Tilter) stands (& Gibraltar parts) and they are great.
I've had them for a couple years now, and have had no problems at all with anything.

It's very cool, really well made, sturdy stuff.
I've found they can 'take it' when it comes to getting banged around, traveling in cases, set-ups, tear downs, etc...it's very road worthy gear.

5 of 5 stars.

The wing screws are very comfortable too--an overlooked item... until you are tearing down at 2 am....

I used to use all DW stands, and these are just as high quality/nice as any of the the top DW stuff...and they're less money too.

I have a Pacific double tom stand thats real sturdy ....so ....that would probably do it....I would just like to get a better view of that picture on the sight....see what it really can do ...it looks like you can add 3 things ...even when attached....

I think the hybrid pod only adds 2 cymbals, because the 3rd one appears to be going through the cymbal holder of the tom stand only... I think.

I'm very interested in using this on my kit... I'll post the details of it soon but you guys can tell me what you think.

Gibraltar is missing out with their web site I agree, the pic's blow. Pearl's site is another one, terrible pic's. You would think these co's (and others) would use a web site to show every detail of their products, not keep them a mystery.
