Odd post I guess, but does anyone else LOVE owning Vinyl. I know with the technology today you can buy vinyl and move it to your computer. For some reason having vinyl is so much better than owning a CD or tape or even worse MP3's which are intangible and pretty shoddy, Vinyl's are as tangible as you can get. Nothing is bad ass that owning a giant record. I have a lot of hardcore(describing the music, not themselves) punk fans that they own extensive vinyl records because labels like deathwish(hardcore punk label that's got some of the best bands out now) still produce in vinyl. Any viewpoints on it?

I love vinyl 45's. Not so much the punk genre anymore. I get most of my vinyl from www.dustygroove.com or www.daptonerecords.com
There is a huge underground funk scene that still puts out 45's.

If I had my way, everything would still be Vinyl. I love vinyl.

At one time, I had over 2,000 albums. Now, I'm probably down to around 300, and I hardly ever play them. My CD count is up over 3,000, though. Records just take up too much room, and are a "pain" to move. I'm sure vinyl will continue to be "collectable", but it's on it's way out. More and more Mom & Pop record stores fold every year, and certainly Tower folding should be a BIG indicator as to what direction the music industry is headed.

And it's a damn shame haha. There's one store in Vancouver that sells vinyl records.

There's always Japanese mini-lps for those who love vinyl but don't have the room.
