Good 'reggae effects' pack?

Hello, I'm looking to spend some time learning reggae - can anybody recommend a good 'effects pack', like a set of wood block, plastic block, small splash, cowbell, etc - hopefully with a mounting system? Or is it better to just buy all the pieces separately?

You're not going to find a pack, you'll have to buy everything separately. That is the best way anyway so you can get the right sounds you're looking for.

Turn your snares off. play the bell of the cymbal. punch that bass drum. cross stick

LOL, yeah, good point - I've seen lots of drummers go to the bell of their ride for Reggae/Latin sounds.

I'm mainly looking for cowbell and mini-splash accents so I'll probably just get those.

Lot of the old school reggae bands had a percussionist or two, in addition to the drummer, playing hand drums, wood blocks, cowbells, even a vibraslap or flexatone.

Back in the day when I was in a reggae band, I used to keep a small timbale to the left of my snare (like a side snare), tuned kinda high, to use for accents. Normally you'd just do them on the snare, with the snares off, but I liked to keep the snares on, thinking the cross-stick sound had a better bite to it with snares on.
