I haven't checked the website, but in the new DW catalog there are 2 new 5000 series pedals that are solid footboard designs. Anybody had a chance to try these out yet?
Sorry If my last couple of posts sound like DW/ PDP adds. I'm just excited that I received my new wish books. LOL

They are actually the 8000 models and I tried them out very recently and they are a mixture if a 9000 footboard, posts but rather than the funkier design of the 9000 chain and inner spring design its a conventional 5000 design. They felt great very solid and without the price of the 9000

I am actually going to purchase the 8000s whenever my new kit arrives. I love the 5000s, and can't quite justify 530.00 for the 9000's...

I'm not talking about the 8000 pedals, those came out last year. These are new. They're 5000 series pedals, but they have no heel plate. Solid footboard.

If you shop around you can find the 9000 series for alot less than that.

I was just going to say the same thing. I paid $300 for mine, brand new condition, and I've even seen some better deals out there.

Here's a picture of the new pedal. It is designed for heel up players.

... or this one, which looks very uninviting.

I wouldn't mind trying out that pedal.
I don't really play "heel up", but my foot isn't always totally flat on the footboard either.
But, they're gonna put a Delta hinge at the end of that footboard, just you wait...if they haven't already.
DW never has a design, and that's it.
They always change something...and then make it a new model haha!
I used to dig the 5000 Strap until they changed the footboard and the heel...but now the pedal I used to like is called the 7000.
At least a Strap cam will fit on the 7000 cross bar, and the Delta hinge is just a change out.
I wonder if this is a responce to the new footboard that the Trick pedal has.
That flat Trick footboard feels really cool.

I'm playing a DW 9000 now, but plan on trying out the Trick pedal soon. If it is anything like their throw offs it will be awesome.

I'm sure you'll dig the Trick pedal.
