I went to their website to check out changing to Ddrum... and darn it, on the electronic drums section there are only triggers and samples... went to an online store, a MAJOR one and couldn't find it either... did they drop 'em?

yes, they discontinued them some time ago.
A new company has taken up the mantle though; 2 Box.
I know very little about the new kit or company, except that it was shown at NAMM recently. I can't even find a page for the company yet, but hopefully details are coming soon.

You can see a picture of it at Ronn Dunnett's Drumsmith NAMM Pictorial: (it scrolls sideways)
http://www.dunnett.com/NAMM2008/08namm.html

it's the very first item in the pictorial.

The pros have no problems in getting the Ddrum modules though, many pros use the DDrum D4 Module - I have found them on eBay from time to time.

Yes I see some on Ebay... but if they're discontinued, then maybe it wouldn't be such a wise investment... what a shame.

Thanks for the Dunnet link!

The biggest problem is that the Ddrum modules were quite pricey when compared to a DM-5. The Ddrum modules were very versatile but that didn't really factor in against price, especailly when you are on a budget.

finally found the 2 Box site:
