The X7, 805 and FS series will still have the previous styled oval lugs. The X7 kits have been upgraded to all Birch.

I'm not sure. It doesn't list prices but the new series will be available a la carte instead of coming in preconfigured kits.

I'm really impressed (for the most part) with the new offerings though. The Curly Maple Natural to Candy Black Exotic and the Tobacco to Black Burst Satin Oil look very DWish. Even some people who are turned off by the DW lugs will find these attrative since the new lugs are so low-profile.

I just bought this series in Natural to Black Curly Maple with a 24" Bass , 6x14" & 6x10" Snares , 8",10",12",13",14" Toms and 16" & 18" Floor Toms and I'm thinking of another Bass drum Now with all DW hardware and Zildjian A Custom Cymbals i love it i had the X7 series witch was OK for the price but this set is killer if you got the money buy it.
