hi to anyone who has chosen to help!

basically ive been browsing for a new kit for some kit and my friend has offered me a gretsch 1970's U.S.A custom for £1200 sizes 20" kick, 12" x 8" rack tom and 14" x 14" floor tom

basicaly before i commit to even being interested i want to know about these drums and what makes them different...better or worse than older or newer gretsch customs.

i have heard some bad press about them but i wanted to come at this with a blank mind completely and get what information i can from drummers :)

cheers in advance, will

You really cant go wrong with the American made Gretsch kits. They sound great and hold their value. I am not sure when they stopped using Jasper shells but I would guess those are most likely Jasper shells, very desirable to collectors and player.

If you like the way they sound then I would jump on them, you can always put them on ebay if you decide later you do not like them, but I doubt that will happen ;-)
