The kit I bought was used slightly, but has some nicks in the finish, where it looks like the finish just scraped off. Please see the picture to see what I mean

So I don't know how to make this look better. Does anybody know how to remove these knicks from the finish??

You might be able to touch it up with the same shade of paint, but it would be difficult.

I have done this with things other than drums. Go to a craft store and find some water based craft paints that come in 1 or 2 ounce bottles. Buy a blue that is a little darker than the drum, and also buy a bottle of white of the same type of paint. start off with a cap full or so of the blue and put in the white just a drop at a time until the blue lightens up to the shade of the drum. Since the finish is varied you will have to do this a few times depending on where the nicks are. When I say a little bit of white I mean a little bit. After this is matched and put on the drum, let it dry since it will change a bit when it dries. When you have the color where you want it, on the same rack in the store there should be some water based clear. Use a little of this clear thinned out with some water and put a few coats on. If you take your time you will be the only one to know where the repairs have been made.
