In a word, excellent. Cymbal weight adjustment, full cymbal bed tilter adjustment, only two legs, SOLID as a rock, and it comes with a drum key and holder ;-)

It's the smoothest I have ever used.

Peace!

Awesome, awesome, awesome. It's not often that a piece of gear changes my playing, but this one did. It enables some left foot action that other pedals just don't. Pricey, yes, but worth it.

I own an old 5000, a newer 5000 with the base and ball bearing hing and a 9000. I love them all but the 9000 is the most effortless to play stand I have ever played. They are all solid as a rock.

I am probably going to be the disenting opinion here but I don't like DW's hi hat stands! It seems too much effort has to applied to get a tight. closed hi hat sound. They are more geared to the sloshy hi hat sound. I use Tama Lever Glide hi Hat stands myself as they are total effortless! My drums are DW, by the way.

I just picked up a used, but in very good condition 9000 hi-hat and I'm very pleased with it. I've played the 5000 for over ten years and it never let me down. One of the things I like about the 9000, is it folds up nicely. Very smooth and well made, another fine DW product.

i've got a 5000 and it's a 2 legger but it doesn't even really need 2 legs, it'll stay up nicley on just the floorplate which i would imagine be very useful for when i get a 2nd kick. I would imagine the 9000 will be even more stable.

Interesting.... One of the main reasons that I like the 9000 is that it has cymbal weight adjustment. I could adjust the setting to close the cymbals by just blowing on them.. (if I had a lot of time on my hands)... or it can be set very stiffly. Have you tried adjusting it?

Just curious...

Peace!

I have this stand as well and It is very, very good! It is very smooth and sturdy. I have never had anything but good results with DW products and I hope to one day have a kit to go with my pedals.
