i'm looking for a new metronome and i narrowed down my choices to 2 things. which one should i get: Korg ma-30 or the dr. beat 30? if u could u can name some others that are good but my budget is 40$.

You can keep saving and order the TAMA Rhythm Watch RW105, excellent metronome for it's price.

it doesnt have to be 40$ max i just want a metronome that works well in that price area. i mean if the tama rhythm watch is that great then i'll save up for it

I use a Metrognome as well. It's not very loud and limited in the tempos it can play, but it's very discreet and easy to use.

I also have a Tama Rhythm Watch. I recommend it highly.

Although I realize that sometimes a metronome can seem expensive, and that a person might have to wait a bit longer to save for a good one, (as opposed to getting something right away to begin with).. I would still say save your money and get the best you can..

A metronome is often one of the most overlooked pieces of gear that ANY musician should have.. Buying a good one is worth the wait, and will pay for itself in spades down the road..

Yep.... The 105 has 35 to 250 bpm, a beat setting from 0 to 9, seperate volume settings for quarter, eigth, sixteenth, triplet, and master notes, 29 programmable settings, remote switch, earphone jack, tap function, 9 volt internal battery or external power source.

It's great little unit that works well live or at practice.

I second that. I got a Rhythm Watch for Christmas and my bandmates have noticed I have become steadier. It's worth the investment.

You too ! I've bought mine with my Christmas money I received. I thought that my time was good, I found out that I was out of time very often :-(
