Hi all,
Just a quick question that i wonder if you can help me with?
Last year i badly hurt my back playing rugby and since then it has been getting better with help of physo etc but still have to be careful. One thing i need to do is get some really lightweight but decent hardware for my kit.
The main thing is as lightweight as humanly possible as I am normally the one who has to lift it - any ideas?
Thanks,
tracer

You can put three or four multi clamps on one Tama Road pro...one heavy stand is gonna be lighter than four or five light stands.....explore multi clamping ...use the force.......

I use a couple DW flatbase cymbal stands - they're great. I didn't pay full price for 'em, though.... If they're too steep, look at the lightweight Yamaha or cheap Pacific line

Check out the Gibraltar 8600 line. They are very cheap...about half the price of the DW. I only paid I think $45 for each of my cymbal stands. The snare and hi-hat stands are great too. Other than that I'd suggest the Yamaha.

And the weight of them is low?

I got rid of all my heavy, double braced Tama and DW stands and replaced them with single braced Yamaha 600 and 700 series stands. They're plenty tough, and I have no need to fly my cymbals 6' off the floor anymore. (the 80's, in my mind at least, are dead). And get yourself a cart http://www.zzounds.com/prodsearch?form=search/ppc&cat=2719&cat2=3332 one of the single best investments I ever made. Last thing I load into the car. First thing I off load. Why carry it when you can roll it?

Yes, the weight is very low. Probably the lightest out there.

And they are stable even though both the 700 & 600 are single braced legs?

They most certainly are stable. Very stable.

To add to MFB's agreement about the stability, I used to play Yamaha 700 series stands and at one time I used to hold a 17" Crash, a 10" Oak Tom, a 13" Hi-hat on a remote hi-hat, and an 8" Splash with no problems.

Wow,
I think im going to go for the 600 - cheap, light and everyone else says its stable as well. If i dont like it, one set up to the 700 when im payed next month as i need two boom stands.
