If anyone knows what kind of China cymbal was used on "Who Are You" throughout the album, I'm really wanting to purchase one. From what is filmed on the "The Kids Are Alright" movie during "Who Are You", he's obviously using Zildjian A's, guessing the size to be around 20", but not sure if it's the discontinued Pang with an inverted edge or a China Boy High or Low. What a great cymbal and to great effect with his playing technique.

I think you'll find they're Paiste cymbals.

2), You're wrong. Keith used various makes, but definitely used Paiste. This is from the Paiste 2002 Brochure...

Unless Paiste are lying I guess.

I stand corrected, I'd read somewhere that he only used zildjians & can honestly say I've never noticed him playing Paiste in any clips.

Yes, he did endorse Paiste cymbals from around 1973-75, yet if you look closely at the cymbals on the underside during the filming of "Who Are You" they are certainly A's, not to say that he had a mixed bag of cymbals between the two brands during this period.

Absolutely none, yes, none of the drummers in this world amazes me like Keith Moon of the Who. When I watch the Who videos, I always wonder, how he does this and that. He was so lucky in a band who really appreciates over drumming,( if thats is the right word. )
I think his position is every rock drummer's dream, beleive it or not.

Today, there are so many great drummers there, everywhere, even 6 year old kids.... too much competition.. audition... easy to get fired from a band... etc...... but Keith Moon, there is no one in this world who can play like him.

He is my hero, I would love to be like him, but........ I can only play like a "beginner" Charley for now.... just starting out with super simple snare beats and occasional toms
Like Keith, I never had drum lessons or know how to read music.

Free yourself with drums, do whatever you want. absolutely no rules.

(all these talks about Tom angles, remote hi hats etc.... seems silly when it comes to Keith Moon)

Always something previously undiscovered in every recorded Keith Moon performance.
Here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceN4s5PP6jw) one of my favorites. Besides being a great song, it's got some truly classic Moon drumming. Listen to how he plays off of the vocal line as soon as it comes in, how he tastefully kicks the verse with little snare rolls and off-beat cymbal crashes. Listen to how he dives deep into the instrumental break at 1:57, just propelling that section with his around-the-kit pyrotechnics. His sense of drama and dynamics is breath-takingly one-of-a-kind. It's perfect, a great performance by a great band with the most original drummer rock music has even seen.

Well, there's supposedly a huge Keith Moon thread somewhere, according to the above, but I don't know where it is. :( So I'll post my question here. I hope someone knows!

I'm at it again, writing another article for TheParadiddler.com (go check it out! :) ). Anyway, I need to know the specifications of the drum kit that Keith played on "My Wife" on The Kids Are All Right. I specifically want to know about the snare drum, if nothing else; that's the drum I'm interested in. I know the brand is probably Premier, but if anyone has more specific information on that snare, on that song, in that movie, that would be outstanding!

Some of you who provide me what I need to know will get a shout out in the article, just for helping out!
