If anyone knows what kind of China cymbal was used on "Who Are You" throughout the album, I'm really wanting to purchase one. From what is filmed on the "The Kids Are Alright" movie during "Who Are You", he's obviously using Zildjian A's, guessing the size to be around 20", but not sure if it's the discontinued Pang with an inverted edge or a China Boy High or Low. What a great cymbal and to great effect with his playing technique.

I think you'll find they're Paiste cymbals.
I love Keith Moon. Such a great character. Another sadly missed groover!!
God rest your soul Moonie!!
2 things:-
1), There's a massive Keith Moon thread elsewhere.
2). Keith Moon never used Paiste.

Okay
1), Oops, our bad. Should've noticed.
2), You're wrong. Keith used various makes, but definitely used Paiste. This is from the Paiste 2002 Brochure...
"In 1967 PAISTE launches Giant Beat cymbals, which are characterized by warmth, strength and brilliance such as drummers had not known before. Key players Keith Moon, John Bonham, Nick Mason and Carl Palmer immediately embrace the new cymbals and thrive on their revolutionary sound."
Unless Paiste are lying I guess.
And photographic evidence... Check the gong for the logo..

I stand corrected, I'd read somewhere that he only used zildjians & can honestly say I've never noticed him playing Paiste in any clips.
Apologies.

Yes, he did endorse Paiste cymbals from around 1973-75, yet if you look closely at the cymbals on the underside during the filming of "Who Are You" they are certainly A's, not to say that he had a mixed bag of cymbals between the two brands during this period.

He was the only drummer who plays like "playing a drum solo along every song"!!!
awsome and brilliant.
No other drummers amazes me, cause they are all perfect and plays by the rules!

The china he used on Who Are You sounded bad, it sounded like a trash can.
If you want to replicate the sound try a Wuhan 20" china.

Isn't that a contradiction?
