I know this is Drummerworld..but if any of you in the Detroit area know someone.. pass him(or her) along!!!
Looking for bass player in the Detroit(downriver) area interested in forming a Rush tribute band? So far we have drums(me) and a guitar player/vocals... looking for kick ass bass player with possible keys. Not necessarily a look-a-like tribute ..just jammin their stuff and taking it out to the clubs, etc.
Get back to me.
Here's a vid of me doin some Rush..

My GOD you look like him.
Good job, since you play like him too!
Plus I see you acquired that last floor tom you were lacking.

When the first vid started, I thought you were Neil from the back cuz you looked and moved just like him. Even when the camera came around I still thought it was Neil, until I really looked... lol.
Great playing.

Very good stuff... Neil had a great perspective that he brought to music and it's a real hoot to play along sometimes..
As a side note, I just posted in general discusion some ?'s about setting up and mixing at home.. maybe you could offer a bit of advice? Seemed like you had a balanced sound and it recorded well..
Peace!
One other thing, Take a look at these guys.. www.cosband.com They have the whole Rush thing down.. I found them through some comments that Neil Peart made.. Enjoy!

Hey Shogun...
Always a pleasure to see and hear you play. Great Job here, as usual!
And good luck with your bass/keyboard player hunt. All The Best to ya!
Though, it'll be tough to get it like the COS Band does it, I'm sure, with your talent, you'll create a great tribute band that'll make G, A, & N proud! ;-)
Peace...and do Play On! :-)

Wow! Great find, danander! COS Band are awesome!
I've seen/heard about a half dozen Rush tribute bands in my travels, and have NEVER seen a band as close to the real thing as the Caress Of Steel Band is. They got it all down. The look AND the sound. As good as it gets without the real 3!
Well Done and Play On! ;-)

Thanks for the compliments everyone..but I swear..I really didn't intend this as a "hey..look at my vids" thread..lol.. I do have a lineup now for this project and we have a rehearsal next week.. I found a couple extremely talented musicians who are eager to do this so it sound like it's gonna be fun.
And yea.. That COS band sounds better than most tributes I've seen out there. very cool.
Rock on!
