Can anyone help me here please? Id really like to know what Taylor Hawkins is doing in this solo...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-4oAcyEI74

Im really like the section from 01.40 to 01.53. I am having trouble figuring how it is done though? Im thinking its a Bonham style triplet using single bass and toms/snare? Id really like to know what the exact sticking is though? Or at least the most likely tecnique hessing?

What are your thoughts? Any help greatly appreciated.

AT 1.40 he's just doing a linear tom-bass sequence at a really high speed, with snare hits put in between. I'm sure you've seen someone do it before, maybe just not as fast or as precise.

What exactly is a linear tom-bass sequence?

If 'B' is the bass drum...

RLB-RLB-RLB-RLB ? But really fast and some of the R or L hand hits are on the snare?

Yes, exactly. Most commonly its L on high tom, R on low tom, and snare on every fourth R.

Thats cool then, I can play that sequence quite fast and with precision but somehow it still doesnt sound like what Taylor is doing in that clip to me? Maybe he is just doing it a hell of a lot faster!

it sounds like he's doing just RL and then a double drop in between with his bass drum.
