View Full Version : A couple of videos!
The newer videos I've posted have better audio now, which is terrific because the audio on the old ones is atrocious!
Here is an improv solo for a contest at another messageboard, I got 2nd place, yay!

I ran through some of the exercises in my older videos again with the new audio, this time just showing the final groove/pattern rather than how to play it

A little cover video of the song Inside by Pain of Salvation

I hope some of you enjoy the videos!

I've just watched the first so far, but it's very musical.
I actually think you're one of my subscribers or used to be (Handidrummed). I've always liked your videos.

Man, you are good. I've only just watched the first and wanted to get back here to let you know two things. Very tasty playing and quite the chops. Your rolls around the kit sound perfect. How long have you been playing? Did you play in school or just do this on your own? You guys on this site amaze me. You're all sooooo good. Joey
Hey, thanks! I remember you left me my first comment ever on youtube fourstringdrums! :-) I thought I was subscribed? I'll have to resubscribe, I really like the videos on your channel!

I've been playing for 8 years, 4 seriously (on my YouTube it says 7 and 3, but this christmas brought the next year of playing) I'm completely self taught, and I taught myself how to read music by reading along while listening to what was being played.
Thanks alot for your compliments, it really means alot to me! :-)

Man, as I mentioned to you somewhere else you've really come a long way. You sound really nice on these videos. I think there's alot of musicianship on display, and I especially enjoy your unique touch on the drums.
But don't you just love these youtube critique guys? You've got the one guy on your contest video who gives you all his ideas about you can improve, then you hear his videos and he's pounding away like an angry caveman, not following any of the advice he just gave you lol.
Are you wanting now to become more serious drummer? I only ask because it sounds like you're really putting in the time.

Thanks alot Matt, I really appreciate getting feedback from someone of your abilities. Lol yeah, you always get the random YouTube critics, usually they don't have their own videos though!
I wouldn't mind doing a workshop or clinic as I think that would be lots of fun! I just play as a hobby though, I do put in lots of time though because I love the drums and I'm always finding new things to work on! Maybe one day something will come out of it, I have been offered to try out for some bands though! Which was a really nice feeling to know you're making enough progress for people to be recognizing your playing!
Thanks again! :-)

I think you should try out for any band that approaches you. You're well past the point of needing to feel good that someone recognizes you. The worst thing that can happen is you don't get the gig, and if you don't try that's pretty much the outcome anyway. So, it just seems like you've got nothing to lose.
