I see the 14x6.5 version all over the internet for about 265. I went to my local music store and asked for a price quote. The clerk gave me a quote or 390 plus tax. I think that is an insane price for that snare. He claims the list price is like 600. Anyway is this snare a highend drum or is it more intermediate range. It is made of maple.(6 or 7 plies i believe)

FWIW, I have a 13x7 that's a great little rock snare. "Twas about $160, if I recall. I'd love to have a 14", too.

I bought mine for 240. I love it. I prefer it over my DW metal...

I think I paid low 200 range for my 6.5x14. If you pay 390 I have some land to sell you.

Edit: Midwest Percussion has them 219-239, and that comes in four finishes: Custom Charcoal, Golden Sunset, Super Maple and Titanium Burst.

I have a 13x5, and its beastly, and i got it for $120 plus a head plus sticks (sure the GC guys aren't quality sales reps, but when they're completley stoned you can get some great deals)
