I got one of these for Christmas, and I've been very impressed; it works well as a warm up or warm down when practicing rudiments. The idea is you rotate this device, which is about the size of a tennis ball, which spins providing increasing resistance the faster you rotate it.

Apparently they're useful for relieving the symptoms of RSI and tendonitis as well as providing a workout for your wrist and arms.

I'm posting this as I've read a few threads on here concerning wrist injuries, and I hope this might help a few people (although obviously I make no claims for the efficacy of this product).

If you do a quick search, you'll find a couple of lengthy threads about these gadgets.

I bought one recently, after the onset of tendonitis, and I found that it exacerbated the problem rather than helping me...but then again, almost anything would if you're injured already. I think I'll use it again once the tendonitis subsides and I need to build strength again.

I have one too. Mines a Dynaball somthing or other. I use it for about 15min each hand, each day. I go slow and work on endurence, not speed. My biggest problem is that my stick grip (between thumb and forefinger) gets tired whn I play. This helped a lot.

your problem may not lie in strength, but rather technique. very old men and very young kids can tear up a drumset, neither of them probably possessing a lot of strength
